WHY A PROGRAM, NOT A SCRIPT

Most online iron care is one appointment. Ours is a year of it.

A lot of telehealth iron care starts and ends with a single consult and a script. Levels that drop once tend to drop again — without a scheduled recheck, most people only find out when the fatigue comes back.

THE GAP

A script isn't a plan

A single prescription treats the moment. It doesn't tell you whether your levels actually recovered, or catch it early if they drop again — that needs a follow-up test, which is easy to forget once symptoms ease.

OUR APPROACH

Rechecks are built in, not optional

Your 3-month and 12-month pathology rechecks are scheduled from day one and included in your program price — with a reminder, not left to your memory. After year one, we recall you annually.

IRON PROGRAM

Patients on the Iron Program often describe the biggest shift as having a plan, not just a result once-off — a set pathology panel, a scheduled 3-month recheck, and a clinician who's still there if levels drift again. Fatigue and other symptoms typically ease over weeks to months as levels normalise, tracked against your own results.

Individual results vary. Treatment is only provided where clinically appropriate after consultation. Eligibility does not guarantee treatment.

PRICING

One program. Everything included.

No tiers to compare — the full pathology panel and both scheduled rechecks are included at one price.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR ME?

The Iron Program isn’t for everyone.

Right for you if…

  • Ongoing fatigue, low energy, or brain fog
  • Heavy periods, frequent blood donation, or a plant-based diet
  • Family history of iron deficiency or anaemia
  • Previously diagnosed iron deficiency wanting structured, ongoing monitoring
  • Adults aged 18 or older

Not right for you if…

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding (your GP or obstetric team manages iron in pregnancy)
  • Male or postmenopausal patients with unexplained deficiency — these need a gastrointestinal cause investigated first, which we'll arrange
  • Fainting, chest pain, or breathlessness at rest — seek urgent care first
  • Known bleeding disorder requiring specialist haematology care

Final eligibility is determined by your Australian doctor during consultation. Some situations are routed to the right specialist instead — see above.

WHAT CAUSES IRON DEFICIENCY?

A few common drivers.

Menstrual blood loss

Heavy periods are one of the most common causes of iron deficiency in women of reproductive age — and one of the most under-investigated.

Diet and absorption

Low dietary iron intake, plant-based diets without enough iron-rich alternatives, or conditions like coeliac disease that reduce absorption.

Blood loss elsewhere

In men and postmenopausal women, unexplained deficiency is most often investigated for a gastrointestinal cause — this is why we route those cases to that pathway first.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A year of scheduled care.

  1. Week 0

    Assessment + pathology ordered

Online assessment reviewed by an Australian doctor. Your iron panel (ferritin, transferrin saturation, full blood count and more) is ordered the same day.

  2. Weeks 1–2

    Results reviewed, plan starts

Your doctor reviews your results against your symptoms and starts a plan if clinically appropriate — oral or, where indicated, infusion pathways are discussed.

  3. Month 3

    Scheduled recheck

A repeat panel confirms your levels are trending the right way. Plan adjusted if needed — this review is built into every Iron Program, not an optional extra.

  4. Month 12

    Annual review

Full recheck and a conversation about ongoing prevention — diet, donation history, and whether a maintenance plan makes sense for you.

  5. Ongoing

    Annual recall

After month 12, we recall you annually so levels don't quietly drift again. You'll get a reminder with a direct booking link.

HOW IT WORKS

From assessment to your first recheck.

  1. Take the free assessment

A few questions about your symptoms, diet, cycle and history. Most people finish in under 3 minutes — reviewed by an Australian doctor, not a diagnosis.

  2. Speak with an Australian doctor

Your AHPRA-registered doctor reviews your assessment and, if appropriate, orders your pathology panel the same day.

  3. Get your results and a plan

Your doctor reviews your results with you in plain language and starts a plan if clinically appropriate.

  4. Scheduled rechecks, not guesswork

Your 3-month and 12-month reviews are booked in from day one, with reminders — so treatment isn't a one-off script you forget about.

Due to Australian Therapeutic Goods regulations, we are unable to discuss specific treatment options until you have a consultation with one of our Fusenite practitioners. This is to ensure a qualified medical professional discusses all the options available to you before you make any decisions regarding medical treatments.

FAQ

Iron Program questions.

How is this different from a normal GP script for iron tablets?

A single script treats the moment, not the pattern. The Iron Program includes your pathology panel, a doctor's review of your results, and scheduled rechecks at 3 and 12 months built into the price — so if your levels drift again, it gets caught rather than waiting for symptoms to return.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to start the assessment. If your doctor identifies something outside what we manage online — for example a possible gastrointestinal cause in a male or postmenopausal patient — they'll arrange the right referral for you.

I'm not sure if I need the full program — can I just get my results reviewed?

Yes — the $95 Blood Test Review is exactly for that. If your doctor recommends the full Iron Program afterwards, your $95 is credited towards it.

Why can't men or postmenopausal women just start treatment straight away?

Iron deficiency in men and postmenopausal women is often a sign of blood loss elsewhere, most commonly the gut. Australian clinical guidelines recommend investigating this before starting iron treatment, so we arrange that investigation first rather than skipping a step that matters.

What if I'm pregnant?

Iron in pregnancy needs to be managed by your GP or obstetric care team as part of your antenatal care, so we route you there rather than treating it online.

Is IV iron infusion included?

Your doctor will discuss whether oral or infusion treatment is more appropriate for you. Infusions are arranged through a partner provider; your doctor will explain the process, cost and what to expect during your consultation.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There's no lock-in contract. You can cancel from your Fusenite dashboard or by emailing care@fusenite.com.
